Our OEM Client based in Gaydon is searching for an Engineering Technician to join their team on an Inside IR35 contract.
A workshop-based role working on current Production and Engineering vehicles with the objective of updating vehicles to the latest Software pack ready for SOTA and Integration testing, fault detection, repair and testing of electrical and mechanical systems and components. Responsible for repair and maintenance work in accordance with quality control standards. Carry out technical diagnosis and documentation of results based on the procedures.
- Diagnostic and repair of mechanical vehicle systems i.e. engine and chassis systems
- Software updates and testing
- Service, diagnostics & repair operations on current vehicles
- Provision of technical feedback for fault identification and support of subsystem development
- Preparation, fitment & removal of test components
- Assembly / replacement of systems / components
- Manufacture / modification of electrical harnesses
- Diagnose / trace faults, rectify and validate issues
- Use of computer diagnostic equipment
- Read and interpret drawings and liaise with engineering departments
- Fitment of harnesses and other components
- Engineer "one off" solutions to overcome issues
Working under limited supervision for non-routine situations and may be responsible for leading daily operations. Training, delegating and reviewing the work of lower-level employees. Problems are typically difficult and non-routine but not complex.
