Our OEM Client based in Gaydon is searching for a Durability & Robustness Programme Leader to join their team on an Inside IR35 position.

This role is within the Durability & Robustness attribute which is part of the wider Driven Attribute Integration organisation of our client. The Programme leader role is to ensure all customer expectations for Durability & Robustness are met with appropriate target setting, design development and completion of whole vehicle verification activities using both virtual and physical test methods.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Support delivery of all Attribute Requirement Targets by Gateway.
  • Support the Programme Attribute Team to ensure all technical issues are identified and resolved.
  • Detailed strategy and delivery planning for the attribute covering CAE, Road Load Data, Vehicle and System rig tests and driven vehicle DV activities.
  • Working with system and component areas to define and maintain cascaded target requirements in support of overall vehicle level targets.
  • Work with component engineers and suppliers as required to drive resolution of engineering issues.
  • Deliver technical recommendations and test and issue status reports.
  • Work on tasks to ensure all lessons learnt from the current vehicle are captured and fed back to the Programme Attribute Team and progressed as necessary.

Skills and Education Required:

  • Knowledge/experience of engineering test activities.
  • Knowledge/experience of automotive technologies or systems.
  • Broad knowledge of vehicle technologies.
  • Understanding of Durability & Strength principles.
  • Project management of complex engineering test activities.
  • Experience of problem-solving including application of Root Cause Analysis, 8D, DoE etc.
  • Understanding of Systems engineering principles and delivery Microsoft package elements Power Point and Excel.
  • Knowledge/Experience of AGILE working principles.
  • Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering and cross functional experience.
