The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our lovely Battersea store as a full‑time Sales Assistant.

This is a varied and hands‑on role where no two days are quite the same. You’ll be welcoming customers into the store, helping them find the perfect products for their homes and making sure they receive a genuinely great experience from start to finish.

We’re looking for someone who is friendly, confident and enthusiastic, with a proven flair for sales and customer service. You’ll enjoy talking to people, have an eye for good design and take pride in helping customers make the right choice.

Alongside sales, you’ll be involved in the day‑to‑day running of the store, including handling stock, maintaining our visual standards and building flat‑pack furniture. You’ll also need to be comfortable using technology and our systems.

Duties and responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, friendly and consistently high standard of customer service
• Build strong relationships with customers and maximise sales opportunities
• Work with the Manager and wider team to achieve sales targets and operational goals
• Receive, handle and organise stock effectively, keeping the back of house clean and well maintained
• Maintain the store to our high visual and presentation standards
• Build flat‑pack furniture and help with the practical side of running the store
• Be available to work a varied retail schedule, including weekends, according to the needs of the business

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a proven natural flair for sales and enjoys talking to customers
• Is friendly, approachable and confident
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Is well presented and takes pride in representing the Futon Company brand
• Is practical and happy getting stuck in with different aspects of the role, including building furniture
• Is comfortable using technology and computer systems
• Has relevant retail, sales or customer service experience, although transferable experience will also be considered
• Is eligible to work in the UK
