About Fussy. We’re Fussy…about everything in our mission to banish single-use plastic from your bathroom. Having experienced exceptional growth over the past four years, we’re looking for a Senior Regulatory Specialist to support regulatory compliance across our growing business and international markets. This is a broad, commercially focused role. You’ll be our internal regulatory expert, working cross-functionally across the business and closely with our Responsible Person and external regulatory partners. This role sits in the NPD team. Your oversight will span product compliance, packaging regulation and international expansion.
This is an exciting opportunity to own regulatory within a fast-moving, growing scale-up and make a difference for people and planet.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support regulatory compliance across Fussy’s products, markets and channels, escalating risks early and executing compliance strategy as we grow.
- Monitor industry regulatory changes and summarise implications for Fussy. Support impact assessments with data gathering and documentation.
- Input into regulatory processes and controls. Conduct supplier documentation checks and flags gaps, recommending safeguards that prevent issues from falling through the cracks.
- Support regulatory readiness for international expansion, assessing what’s needed to enter and operate compliantly and coordinating registrations, documentation, claims, packaging and artwork changes.
- Conduct regulatory review of artwork and product information, ensuring packaging, website and retailer content remain compliant and consistent as products and regulations evolve.
- Maintain our regulatory documentation and version control, coordinating updates and documents needed with our RP to ensure PIFs, CPSRs and specifications are accurate, traceable and kept up to date as products and legislations change.
- Conduct compliance checks at key NPD and EPD checkpoints, independently checking fragrance, formula, and packaging compliance.
- Partner with NPD, Brand and Commercial on product and packaging claims, advising on compliance and defining the required substantiation testing.
- Support packaging regulatory compliance, including PPWR/EPR data collection, reporting, and supplier coordination, while tracking changes and summarising impacts.
Who you are:
- 3+ years regulatory experience in beauty, personal care or a relevant regulated consumer industry such as home care or cleaning, with BONUS points for experience with products containing fragrance.
- Proven experience supporting regulatory requirements for international expansions and packaging regulation (EPR/PPWR), navigating different regulatory frameworks to support market entry.
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and excellent version-control discipline.
- Commercial and solutions-oriented - a clear communicator who can summarise regulatory information and work cross-functionally between teams, with the judgement to assess regulatory risk proportionately and find pragmatic, compliant solutions rather than simply identifying barriers.
- Confident project management skills, able to organise and drive regulatory actions forward and keep things moving.
- Curious and proactive about the regulatory landscape, with a strong interest in emerging requirements and industry developments.
- Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity, able to navigate changing priorities, last-minute changes and unexpected regulatory challenges.
What we offer:
- A chance to play a part in banishing single-use plastic from the bathroom.
- A salary of £40-45k depending on experience.
- Hybrid working with Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in our London (Shoreditch) office.
- 33 days annual leave including flexible bank holidays + a day off for your birthday – we encourage you to take time off to switch off, rest and recharge.
- Our WellHub membership with a range of fitness & wellbeing options - we care about our team’s wellness, from physical to mental health.
- Share options after probation, so that you can benefit from our growth.
- Gym membership.
