About Fussy

We're Fussy…about everything in our mission to banish single-use plastic from your bathroom. Having experienced exceptional growth over the past five years, we are now looking for a talented individual to join the team as a Junior Creative Strategist.

You'll be joining an established creative team alongside two senior strategists you'll learn from, contributing ideas to the paid social advertising that drives most of our growth. Creative is a hugely important lever here, so the concepts you write and the tests you run make a real difference to the business. We ship hundreds of ads every month and read the results together, so you'll never be guessing whether an idea worked. You'll know within days.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a scale-up through a significant period of growth, with the autonomy to test fast and learn even faster.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop concepts, hooks and messaging angles for Meta and YouTube that make people stop scrolling, click and buy.
  • Contribute to the creative testing roadmap, taking briefs from insight and idea through to live ad, and feeding what you learn back into the next round.
  • Turn customer psychology, reviews, support tickets and category trends into new creative ideas.
  • Write tight, unambiguous briefs and scripts for content creators, editors and designers, then give the feedback that gets you ads that will perform.
  • Manage the day-to-day with our creators and editors, keeping concepts moving from brief to delivery.
  • Work with our media buyers to understand what performed and why, across ROAS, CAC, CTR, hook rate and conversion.

Who you are:

Great comes in lots of different forms, and we’re really open to seeing candidates from a range of backgrounds. Given the nature of this role and what we’ll ask of you, we do believe that the following skills are needed to be able to deliver to a high standard:

  • A strong understanding of consumer psychology: why people buy, what objections stop them, and how you answer those in three seconds.
  • Strong writing. Hooks, scripts, headlines, on-screen text. Concise beats clever.
  • Fluency in short-form video. You know what's working on TikTok, Reels and Shorts, not as trends to copy but as formats to use.
  • Strong prioritisation skills. You're comfortable choosing the highest value test when there are twenty ideas on the board.

To demonstrate this, we will ask for a portfolio of video work you've concepted or scripted, with a sense of how it performed. We care more about the thinking and the results than the polish.

And anyone who has these skills too would likely be a super fit for this role, but these are by no means essential:

  • Experience of creative strategy in a D2C business, especially in beauty, personal care or another repurchase-driven category.
  • Hands-on editing in CapCut, Premiere, Figma, Photoshop or similar. Being able to cut a rough version yourself is a superpower.
  • You're comfortable digging into numbers. You don't need to be a data analyst or an Excel wizard, but being able to get into Meta Ads Manager, see how your creative is actually performing and back your next idea with more than a hunch goes a long way.

This isn't the right role for you if:

  • You want to hand off a strategy deck and never see the results. Here you follow your ideas through to what happens next.
  • You'd rather perfect one idea than test ten rough ones.
  • You don't like working in fast-paced and changeable environments (this is start-up life, after all).

What we offer:

  • A chance to play a part in banishing single-use plastic from the bathroom.
  • Hybrid working with Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in our London (Shoreditch) office.
  • 33 days annual leave including flexible bank holidays + a day off for your birthday – we encourage you to take time off to switch off, rest and recharge.
  • Our WellHub membership with a range of fitness & wellbeing options - we care about our team’s wellness, from physical to mental health.
  • Share options after probation - we grow, you grow.

Who we are:

Fussy are on a mission to banish single-use plastic from the bathroom by designing simple, effective and convenient personal care products that are backed by science not buzzwords. Our first product, a refillable deodorant is now the UK’s top rated natural deodorant and has blessed the armpits of everyone from Holly Willoughby to some very known Dragons’. We have put in place the foundations of a world-class team of employees and advisors and this is a super exciting time to join as we are now looking to accelerate our growth into new products and territories. We as a brand have the responsibility, consumers have the power and it’s only together we can do this. Power to your pits!
