Role Description
The General Manager role at Fussey Engineering is a full-time, office based at our Head Office: Lancaster Approach, North Killingholme, DN40 3JZ. There will be a requirement for site visits throughout the UK as and when required. The General Manager will oversee daily operations across design, fabrication, and installation, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.
This role will manage and support multidisciplinary teams, coordinate resources, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
The General Manager will also maintain strong relationships with clients, collaborate with the estimating and project teams, and contribute to strategic planning and business development.
Qualifications
- Experience in operations and project management within structural steel, construction, or related engineering sectors.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage, develop, and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of steel fabrication, installation processes, and CAD-based design workflows.
- Excellent communication and management skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Basic computer skills with daily use of Excel, Adobe and CAD programming.
- Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and industry regulations in the UK construction/engineering environment.
