About FusionAuth
FusionAuth is a developer-first customer identity platform that gives engineering teams complete control over authentication, authorization, and user management. We serve organizations across B2C, B2B, and B2B2C with a single-tenant architecture, flexible hosting options, and deep extensibility through APIs, webhooks, and advanced customizations. We’re a fast-growing company solving complicated identity problems for teams that care about control, performance, and security.
Our Solutions Engineering team sits at the center of product, engineering, and revenue — guiding prospects through architecture decisions, supporting complex proof-of-concepts, and helping them evaluate FusionAuth with clarity and confidence. If you love talking to developers, diagramming architectures, building sample apps, and helping teams understand the “why” behind identity decisions, this role is for you.
Job Summary
Your Role: The Hero of Solutions Engineering
As a Solutions Engineer, your mission is to drive the technical win. You’ll team up with Account Executives to run deep discovery, demonstrate FusionAuth’s capabilities, build trust with engineering teams, and guide prospects through solution design, hosting choices, and identity architecture decisions. This isn’t a “demo jockey” role — our SEs write code, build PoCs, advise on CIAM best practices, and advocate for developers. You’ll influence product direction, collaborate closely with engineering, and shape how organizations adopt FusionAuth in the real world.
Responsibilities
- Drive Technical Discovery & Solution Design: Lead discovery sessions that uncover technical requirements, constraints, and success criteria. Build and present architectural recommendations tailored to each prospect’s environment and model (B2C, B2B, B2B2C, app suites, multi-tenant SaaS, M2M). Guide prospects through modern auth patterns (OAuth, OIDC, SAML, MFA, SSO, token exchange, mTLS, DPoP, FGA, etc.).
- Deliver Developer-First Technical Evaluations: Run demos that speak directly to engineering teams — hands-on, credible, and real. Build example apps, scripts, and integration patterns using FusionAuth, modern frameworks, and cloud tooling. Support structured proofs of concept, including async Slack support, environment setup guidance, sample payloads, and success criteria alignment.
- Hosting, Architecture & Deployment Guidance: Advise on FusionAuth hosting tiers (Basic, Business, HA) and help prospects understand cost, scale, and operational tradeoffs. Assist with customer environments: Docker, Kubernetes, containers, microservices, cloud infra, CI/CD, and DevOps patterns. Help prospects align FusionAuth with compliance, security, and regional requirements.
- Collaboration, Documentation & Process: Partner with product and engineering to ensure field requirements are heard and prioritized. Contribute documentation, internal runbooks, diagrams, and developer-focused content. Participate in creating Consensus workflows, Problem/Solution videos, and technical demo assets.
- Represent FusionAuth Externally: Present at meetups, webinars, and developer-focused events. Collaborate with DevRel and Product Marketing to create authentic developer content. Serve as a credible technical voice in the identity community.
Qualifications
Required:
- 4+ years software development or engineering experience (you can write code, debug, and reason about architecture).
- 2+ years in pre-sales, customer-facing engineering, technical consulting, or similar.
- Hands-on IAM experience (OAuth, OIDC, SAML, MFA, SSO) with ability to explain and implement flows.
- Comfort working with modern frameworks (JS/TS, Python, Java, Go, etc.).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Familiarity with DevOps tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability).
- Strong communication skills — diagramming, documentation, storytelling.
- Curiosity and a builder mindset — SEs at FusionAuth are makers.
Preferred:
- Experience with CIAM specifically (Auth0, Keycloak, Cognito, WorkOS, Stytch, Frontegg, etc.).
- Security/compliance awareness (SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA).
- Experience in multi-region deployments, high availability, and distributed systems.
- Technical certifications (AWS SA, Kubernetes, security certs).
Location: Based in London, Berlin or Amsterdam metro area
