Are you a Lifting Equipment Examiner with proven experience delivering LOLER 9.2 first thorough examinations and load testing of overhead and gantry cranes prior to first use? Are you looking for a long-term, outside IR35 contract on a major UK nuclear project? Fusion Talent is proud to be supporting a key provider to Hinckley Point C. We are seeking an experienced and technically competent Lifting Equipment Engineer to carry out LOLER 9.2 Thorough Examinations and load testing on a wide range of lifting equipment. The successful candidate will act as a technical authority and be responsible for delivering high-quality, compliant inspections and reports in line with current legislation and recognised industry standards. The position is outside of IR35 and offers an immediate start.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out LOLER 9.2 Thorough Examinations, including load testing.
- Issue first Reports of Thorough Examination after installation.
- Inspect and examine: Overhead travelling cranes, Bridge and gantry cranes, Support gantries, runway systems, Electric chain hoists and Lifting accessories.
- Liaison with the client and site teams, acting as the technical authority for cranes prior to them going into service.
Person:
- Lifting Equipment Examiner / Mechanical Inspector or similar
- Proven experience delivering LOLER 9.2 examinations and load testing prior to first use
- Strong experience with overhead travelling cranes, bridge and gantry cranes and runway systems
- LEEAFoundation Certificate (minimum – LEEA diplomas or SAFed SS01 highly advantageous)
- Strong working knowledge of LOLER and PUWER and relevant inspection standards
- Comfortable acting as technical authority on a high-hazard / nuclear environment
- Looking for a long-term contract on the UK’s largest nuclear project
