Position for a Site Operations Manager to autonomously run the flagship site of a heavy engineering specialist going through significant growth.

This is a great opportunity to join an evolving business investing heavily in assets and systems, overseeing their dockside operation which is a cornerstone of their UK operation. An ideal applicant will have experience in a heavy engineering, bulk commodity, waste management, aggregates or similar environment, excellent leadership abilities and a key understanding of production efficiencies. Experience in import/export is desirable but by no means essential as the company is happy to offer training & development in this area. The company turnover is circa £1bn per annum and operates in one of the UK’s fastest growing & sustainable sectors. They are experiencing significant growth with new sites opened this year and significant investment ongoing at existing facilities. Due to this growth & expansion, we are seeking a Site Operations Manager to lead one of their key sites in the South.

In this position, you will manage an experienced team covering production, maintenance, export, and procurement. You will have full autonomy in your day‑to‑day work and report key metrics to the Group Operations Manager to help with informed decision making at a group level. Full industry, systems and export training can be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead an experienced and multidisciplined team covering production, maintenance, export, and procurement.
  • Run the flagship site autonomously with full day‑to‑day responsibility.
  • Report key performance metrics to the Group Operations Manager.
  • Drive production efficiencies and maintain operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with Group Operations to develop strategies for growth.

Key Qualifications

  • Site Operations Manager or similar experience.
  • Background in heavy engineering, bulk commodity, waste management, aggregates or related industry.
  • Excellent leadership capabilities with fundamental knowledge of production efficiencies.
  • Desirable experience in import/export but not essential.
  • Willingness to develop further through industry training and development.
