Are you an experienced operations or production leader who can think on your feet and drive performance across a busy, safety-critical environment? Do you come from a manufacturing, heavy engineering, military or similar background? An excellent opportunity is available to join a market-leading heavy engineering specialist, taking responsibility for two neighbouring operational sites based at Liverpool docks. This role would suit a Production Manager, Operations Supervisor, Workshop Manager or similar, looking to step into a broader, site-wide leadership role covering production, QHSE, contractor management and logistics. Applicants from the forces, manufacturing, heavy engineering and similar sectors are encouraged to apply with full industry training available.

The company is a well-established heavy engineering specialist with an excellent reputation for staff development and long-term retention. Following an internal promotion, they are now seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support and deputise for the Site Manager, with a defined progression plan into a senior site leadership role.

Position:

  • Responsible for two adjacent operational sites at Liverpool docks
  • Overseeing production output, QHSE, contractor activity and logistics operations
  • Working closely with the Site Manager to support day-to-day site leadership
  • Full technical and operational training provided

Person:

  • Experience as an Operations Supervisor, Production Manager, Workshop Manager or similar
  • Strong background in leadership, production, site operations and contractor management
  • Exposure to QHSE and safety-critical environments
  • Background within manufacturing, heavy engineering or the armed forces
  • Engineering or logistics experience advantageous but not essential
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a hands-on leadership role
