We’re looking for an enthusiastic, organised apprentice to help connect teachers, teaching assistants and school support staff with opportunities in schools. Working alongside the recruitment team, you’ll learn how to understand schools’ staffing needs, find suitable candidates and support placements from the first phone call through to their first day. What you’ll be doing day to day Finding education staff: Searching job boards, reviewing CVs and contacting teachers, teaching assistants and other school support staff about suitable opportunities. Getting to know candidates: Speaking with candidates about their qualifications, classroom experience, subject specialisms, experience supporting pupils with special educational needs, preferred locations and availability. Helping schools arrange cover: Supporting the team with requests for daily supply, planned absences and longer placements, including responding to urgent morning cover enquiries. Matching candidates to vacancies: Helping identify suitable staff based on the school’s requirements, year group, subject, candidate experience and availability. Confirming booking details: Making sure candidates receive the school address, arrival time, role details and any instructions provided by the school. Supporting registrations and checks: Helping gather registration information, references and documentation for safeguarding and pre-employment checks, under the team’s supervision. Arranging interviews: Coordinating interviews for longer placements and keeping candidates informed about arrangements and feedback. Keeping records accurate: Updating candidate availability, school contacts, vacancy details and booking information on the recruitment database. Following up on placements: Checking how assignments are going, gathering feedback from candidates and schools, and sharing updates with the team. Building school relationships: Learning how to contact schools, understand their staffing needs and introduce Fusion Staffing’s recruitment services. What we’re looking for You’ll have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and an interest in education. You should be comfortable speaking on the phone, communicating professionally by email and keeping information organised. Reliability, attention to detail and the ability to stay calm when priorities change are important. You’ll also need to handle candidate and school information carefully and confidentially. What you’ll learn You’ll develop practical skills in education recruitment, customer service, sales and administration, while learning how recruitment teams support schools and help education staff find suitable work.
