We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our client's team in Scarborough. You will play a key role in keeping production machinery operating safely and efficiently, carrying out preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs, as well as supporting machinery installations and continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and breakdowns and carrying out effective repairs
- Identifying root causes of equipment failures and helping to prevent repeat breakdowns
- Inspecting and maintaining machine safety guarding
- Working closely with Production Supervisors to minimise downtime and coordinate maintenance activities
- Supporting the installation, commissioning and modification of new machinery
- Carrying out bench fitting, fabrication and general mechanical engineering work
- Using MIG welding for maintenance and fabrication requirements
- Working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Supporting continuous improvement and machinery upgrade projects
Essential skills and experience:
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Engineer or similar
- Strong mechanical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment
- Good fabrication and MIG welding skills
- Experience working with pneumatics and hydraulics
