Job Description

ur Client is a world leader for providing innovative solutions for challenging deep water intervention operations.\\n\\nThese products are known worldwide for unrivalled quality and technical excellence utilising a wealth of experience, delivering products that perform reliably in hostile environments.\\n\\nJob purpose: Effective timely technical support between operations and engineering relating to all new and existing products. Providing process and manufacturing engineering expertise into new and existing customer parts and processing/manufacturing methods, ensuring smooth transition to full manufacture.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities: (Key Tasks)\\n\\nThe design of fixtures, sourcing tooling and producing stage drawings, SOP’s, training manuals and operation procedures.\\n\\nCreation of engineering documentation and bills of materials using 3D Solidworks and 2D AutoCAD.\\n\\nEnsure all pre-production activities, including creation of stage drawings, bills and routes, writing of machine programs, identification of tooling requirements, and the design of fixtures, are completed effectively and in a timely manner to support production plans.\\n\\nParticipate in feasibility reviews for new parts to evaluate and determine manufacturing methods required and ensure that any exceptions or design changes that will be required prior to quotation and sign off.\\n\\nDrive improvements in production processes using continuous improvement methodology whilst developing methods and processes.\\n\\nDeliver technical training to production operators to develop their skills and capabilities and increase product and process knowledge team working.\\n\\nDevelops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.\\n\\nImproves manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout.\\n\\nProvides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labour and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.\\n\\nProvide design input on all projects as required within the timescales set by the company.\\n\\nEnsure the suitability of the engineering aspects of company products for their function.\\n\\nPrompt replies to production, logistical and technical support questions.\\n\\nInternal/External interaction:\\n\\n * Production and Logistics departments\\n\\n * Project Management\\n\\n * Technical Support department\\n\\n * Engineering department\\n\\nEducation/Qualifications (essential):\\n\\n * HND/degree in a suitable engineering/manufacturing discipline\\n\\nKey Skills/Technical Competencies (essential):\\n\\nGood knowledge of manufacturing techniques, anodising, welding, heat treatment, painting, additive, machining, cutting, folding and NDT requirements.\\n\\nAssembly methods and maintenance.\\n\\nCAD drawing creation, GDT, BOM’s and material science.\\n\\nInspection, testing and certification requirements.\\n\\nSafety conscious, attentive to QHSE policies and regulations (ISO 9001 QA systems).\\n\\nCost consciousness.\\n\\nActive champion of lean thinking and improvement projects.\\n\\nConfident negotiator and influencer.\\n\\nTo be willing to think through problems and suggest imaginative approaches to solutions.\\n\\nFlexibility, adaptability and professionalism, with the ability to work cooperatively as part of a multidiscipline team or individually on projects.\\n\\nTime management with ability to plan work loadings, multi-task and work under pressure.\\n\\nGood verbal and written communication skills, clear technical writing and good record keeping.\\n\\nAttention to detail and effective checking regime.\\n\\nSoftware skills: Microsoft Office Suite.\\n\\nSoftware skills: 2D and 3D CAD (e.g. AutoCAD/DraftSight and SolidWorks).\\n\\nKey Skills/Technical Competencies (desirable):\\n\\n * Structural analysis, scoping calculations and hand calculations.\\n\\n * Mechanisms, kinematics and power transmission.\\n\\n * Hydraulics including sealing systems e.g.

O-rings, seals, hydraulic fittings etc.\\n\\nAbility to understand and apply commercially sensible financial decisions in the context of production and design. To think in terms of costs, profits and sales.\\n\\nIndustrial Experience (essential):\\n\\n * 5 years minimum experience in engineering and manufacturing environment.\\n\\nAdministrative (essential):\\n\\n * Ensure compliance with all company systems and procedures.\\n\\nQHSE Competencies:\\n\\n * Maintain behaviour in compliance with HSE requirements.\\n\\n * Maintain responsibility and accountability through personal commitment and behaviour.\\n\\n37 hours per week – 8.30am to 4.30pm Mon-Thurs and 8.30am to 4pm Friday. Flexi-time is available.\\n\\nOvertime paid at straight time\\n\\n25 days holidays and 8 bank holidays\\n\\n5% pension\\n\\nPrivate healthcare\\n\\n2 x base salary life insurance
