Atomic is delighted to partner with a growing medium sized firm, looking for an Accounts Assistant Manager to join their Finchley office. They have built their foundations on successful relationships and a forward thinking, dynamic partnership that remains fiercely independent.

As an Accounts Assistant Manager within their Music and Entertainment team, you can expect to enjoy a wide variety of assignments. Their clients vary from owner-managed businesses to group companies through to international artists and performers.

Responsibilities:
  • To establish the objectives of the engagement including the issue of engagement letters, relay of timetables, issuance of deliverables.
  • To make the general planning decisions with respect to resourcing, staff objectives and timelines, budgetary review and WIP monitoring.
  • To maintain close review of the staff resourcing planner, work with the M&E director, the outsourcing and ESO teams and other departments to cater to the needs of the department and the firm.
  • To co-ordinate the scheduling of the work with client activities and requirements.
  • To assign the senior, assistants and specialists required to perform the field work and meet their training needs during assignments, providing guidance on matters as necessary and supervising their work to address queries raised during the assignment.
  • To review all planning aspects, working papers and completion work to bring the relevant files to stage ready for partner review prior to finalisation.
  • To discuss and resolve all contentious points in accounting or accounts disclosure, seeking appropriate specialist assistance where required.
  • To assist partners to bill clients for services rendered, monitor WIP processes and providing WIP reports to partners.
  • Prepare costing and quotes for assignments and preparing tender documentation where necessary.
Requirements:
  • Experience in statutory and monthly reporting under FRSS102 (including s1A) and FRSq102 SORP with the ability to take ownership and responsibility of a client portfolio.
  • ACA/ACCA qualified with minimum 4 years experience within a UK practice.
  • Ability to form professional relationships and work closely with clients, to ensure they deliver timely and relevant information.
  • Outstanding communication: keeping the team and clients abreast of the progress on assignments.
  • Music and entertainment industry experience is preferred but not vital. Tasks will include royalty and tour accounting.
  • Knowledge of CaseWare and CCH software is beneficial as well as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero and Microsoft packages.
  • Experience in people and time management is essential, preferably within a business services team in excess of 10 people.
  • Experience of groups and consolidation is beneficial.
  • Has non-academic extra-curricular interests which demonstrate their drive to succeed either in leadership roles, roles which demonstrate entrepreneurial flair or passion.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a relationship builder with a professional but fun personality.
  • A strong academic background.
  • Is willing to work hard and reap the benefits of their efforts.
  • Someone who takes pride in their work and can support the team.
  • Able to commute and work from their office in Finchley Central.
