Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
    • Own reporting for all revenue‑related general ledger accounts across both the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, ensuring accuracy and completeness as the business evolves.
    • Prepare and maintain revenue reporting for inclusion in Board packs and management reporting.
    • Deliver revenue‑focused analysis and insights to support decision‑making by the senior finance team.
  • Revenue Accounting & Commercial Controls
    • Ensure revenue is recognised in accordance with FRS 102 requirements.
    • Maintain accurate deferred income and accrued revenue schedules.
    • Review and validate sales orders, campaign delivery data, and supporting documentation.
    • Monitor compliance with commercial agreements, trade deals, and partner arrangements.
    • Ensure sales commission calculations are accurate and applied in line with agreed structures.
  • Invoicing & Credit Control
    • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of invoices, ensuring alignment between operational systems and financial records.
    • Manage the debtor ledger and support cash collection activities to achieve agreed DSO targets.
  • Business Partnering
    • Act as a key finance contact for Sales, Campaign Delivery, and Operations teams, providing guidance and support on revenue‑related matters.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and elevate complex matters where appropriate.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance revenue recognition, billing, and reporting processes.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen controls, efficiency, and data quality.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified or part‑qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with at least five years' post‑qualified or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in a revenue accounting, commercial finance, or similar role.
  • Experience within advertising, media, marketing services, or a similarly fast‑paced, commercially driven environment is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong systems knowledge, including advanced spreadsheet skills; experience with Salesforce, Accounting Seed, or Datarails would be beneficial but is not essential.
