A Yard Person / Site Engineer is required to join a Ground Investigation contractor to work on a permanent role in Manchester. You will be combining yard management with site engineering and monitoring duties to support the company's operations in Manchester.
Responsibilities:
- Managing and maintaining a safe, tidy yard and stores, including equipment, consumables, and samples
- Preparing, loading, transporting, and returning site equipment and materials
- Receiving, logging, storing, segregating, and disposing of soil and rock samples
- Providing site engineering support, including in-situ testing (e.g. soakaway, permeability, DCP)
- Undertaking gas and groundwater monitoring and sampling
- Carrying out site walkovers to support Phase 1 Desk Studies
- Assisting with stock control, compliance, and mentoring junior staff
Requirements:
- Full UK manual driving licence
- CSCS card
- Willing to work between yard, office, sites, and laboratories
- Strong organisation, communication, and health
