We are seeking an experienced Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team delivering high-value building services projects across the North West and beyond. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially astute QS who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in major mechanical and electrical installations.
The Role
You will take full commercial responsibility for M&E packages from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the commercial performance of mechanical and electrical projects
- Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and subcontracts
- Cost planning, forecasting, and reporting
- Valuations, variations, and change management
- Procurement of specialist M&E subcontract packages
- Risk and value management
- Producing monthly CVRs and financial reports
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff
- Liaising with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
About You
We are looking for someone with strong technical knowledge of building services and a solid commercial background.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor (Senior level preferred)
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical services installations
- Experience working for an M&E contractor or specialist subcontractor
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Good understanding of contract forms (e.g., JCT, NEC)
- Proficient in cost reporting and commercial management systems
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
