Senior Ecologist
Rail industry
Contract Length: Initially until April 2027
Location: York, Leeds, Newcastle or Doncaster β 3 days on site or office / 2 days from home
IR35: In scope
Pay Rate: Β£385 umbrella
Description:
- Survey ecosystems and assess the diversity, profusion and behaviour of the different organisms within them.
- Conduct field surveys to collect biological information about the numbers and distribution of organisms.
- Carry out taxonomy, classification of organisms, applying sampling strategies and employing a range of habitat survey techniques.
- Aerial photography, maps carrying, environmental impact assessment, analysing and interpreting data, using specialist software programs.
- Work on habitat management and creation, write reports and issue recommendations.
Minimum Requirement:
- Previous rail experience in preferred
- Experienced and confident, comfortable working across senior management and front-line staff
- Able to influence and collaborate across different disciplines and adapt to that.
More details:
- Travel to various sites across North & East and East Coast will be required, along with undertaking field assessments/reports.
- Full/associate/graduate membership of Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) (depending on experience/or working towards)
