The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced
Quantity Surveyor β MEP to join a well-established commercial team delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across Central London.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex and technically challenging schemes within live environments, supporting the commercial delivery of high-profile M&E projects.
Working within a collaborative and supportive team, you will play a key role in commercial management, cost control and contract administration while benefiting from strong opportunities for career development and progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial delivery of MEP works across allocated projects.
- Carry out measurement and valuation of works from site records and drawings.
- Prepare Applications for Payment and Payment Notices in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Manage project variations, change control and associated commercial impacts.
- Procure, administer and manage subcontractor accounts through to final account settlement.
- Prepare and maintain Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), cost-to-complete forecasts and commercial risk registers.
- Monitor and manage project cash flow and turnover forecasts.
- Produce internal valuations, subcontract liability reports and monthly commercial reports.
- Negotiate and agree subcontractor and supplier accounts.
- Ensure compliance with NEC and JCT contract requirements and internal governance procedures.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners and internal stakeholders.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Experience in commercial management within an M&E or MEP contracting environment.
- Strong understanding of subcontract procurement and account management.
- Proven experience in cost control, change management and commercial reporting.
- Working knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract.
- Experience producing CVRs, forecasts and monthly commercial reports.
- Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively to a wider commercial team.
- Experience within healthcare, heritage or similarly complex project environments would be advantageous.
About You
- HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the M&E or Building Services sector.
- Strong understanding of commercial management principles and project controls.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet demanding deadlines.
- Proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
- Experience working on heritage and healthcare projects is desirable.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Full right to work in the UK.
