Job Title: Painter & Decorator

Pay: £19.00 per hour PAYE

Job Summary: Fusion People are currently seeking an experienced Painter & Decorator to join a maintenance and refurbishment team carrying out internal decorating works across a secure MOD facility.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high‑quality painting and decorating works within occupied buildings, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Due to the nature of the site, all candidates must be eligible to undergo and pass MOD/security clearance before commencing work.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out internal painting and decorating works across a variety of buildings and facilities
- Prepare surfaces including sanding, filling, stripping and making good prior to decoration
- Apply paint, emulsions, gloss, varnishes and specialist coatings to walls, ceilings, doors and woodwork
- Carry out minor repairs to internal finishes where required
- Work from drawings, instructions and specifications with minimal supervision
- Ensure all work areas are left clean, safe and tidy
- Adhere to site health & safety procedures and MOD security requirements
- Report defects, material requirements and any issues to the Site Supervisor
- Work collaboratively with other maintenance and construction trades on site
Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Painting & Decorating
- Previous experience carrying out internal decorating works within commercial, public sector, defence, healthcare or similar environments
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation and finishing standards
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
- Eligible to pass security clearance required for an MOD site
