We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Electrician to support our engineering operations at our site in Ilkeston. You will use your experience to quickly diagnose faults, carry out repairs and support both reactive and planned maintenance activities. The role also involves basic mechanical and fabrication work, along with contributing to continuous improvement across the site.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with potential rotation across day, afternoon and night shifts.
Key Responsibilities:- Follow all company procedures and Health & Safety policies.
- Use the site safety systems (LOTO, permits) to complete repairs and modifications.
- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns and ensure repairs are completed to a high standard.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance to maximise plant uptime and minimise unplanned downtime.
- Complete all maintenance documentation accurately and on time, including entries on the CMMS system.
- Report any issues that could affect production to the Engineering Manager promptly.
- Help manage spare parts for key processes efficiently.
- Work flexibly with the engineering team to support 24-hour technical coverage.
- Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities.
- Carry out a range of maintenance tasks across the site's equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and basic fabrication issues.
- Follow company standards for monitoring and reporting.
- Report any non-conformances and assist with corrective actions.
- Contribute to overall site performance and efficiency.
- Qualified Electrician - ideally with an electrical maintenance apprenticeship background.
- Experience in medium or heavy industrial environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems (HV experience beneficial).
- Able to carry out mechanical PPMs and repairs.
- Confident in fault finding, working independently or as part of a team.
- Able to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
- Experienced in planned maintenance and proactive in identifying and reporting faults.
- Flexible to work occasional weekends when required.
