Our client provides electrical engineering design, consultancy, and testing services to the electricity supply industry. Their expertise spans the entire asset lifecycle, including feasibility studies, option assessment and selection, outline and detailed design, testing, and engineering support throughout implementation, operation, and maintenance phases.
Responsibilities
- Produce LV electrical designs that are safe, compliant, buildable and aligned to project scope, programme and budget
- Support tender development through technical input, optioneering and preliminary design
- Undertake design calculations, technical reports and supporting documentation
- Support commissioning, handover and technical close-out activities where required
- Comply with CDM Designer duties and contribute to risk reduction through design
- Apply relevant legislation, standards and company procedures consistently
- Participate in design reviews, checking processes and technical assurance activities
- Contribute to development of Designer’s Risk Assessments and hazard management
- Support technical studies, investigations and engineering problem solving
- Assist in load monitoring, analysis and reporting activities
- Apply engineering judgement to resolve technical issues and propose practical solutions
- Maintain accurate design records and configuration control
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in LV electrical design within infrastructure or similar sector
- Working knowledge of relevant UK / European standards and design practices
- Understanding of engineering design processes and multidisciplinary project environments
- Familiarity with BS7671 18th Edition wiring regulations
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation
- Familiarity with Amtech or ETAP or Hevacomp
- Familiarity with DIALux / Relux
- Familiarity with ProjectWise
- Right to work in the UK.
This role is suitable for an Electrical Designer, Design Coordinator, Lead Electrical Engineer, HV Plant Engineer or a Senior Protection & Control Engineer.
