An exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading highways infrastructure organisation and play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across the South West region’s capital programme.
The Role:
- Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with the Regional Management Team, Programme Delivery Managers, key stakeholders, suppliers and internal teams to ensure alignment of strategic and delivery objectives.
- Review and report on portfolio delivery performance, resolve complex issues, and support the preparation of project business cases.
- Manage programme governance, financial reporting and risk across capital expenditure budgets, ensuring effective financial and contractual controls are in place and adhered to.
- Maintain a positive organisational reputation through effective customer and stakeholder communications throughout project delivery.
- Proactively manage engagement with communities, stakeholders, transport operators, road users and businesses.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities, implementing changes and promoting portfolio management best practices.
- Manage and evaluate portfolio risks, issues, dependencies and constraints, leading the development and implementation of effective solutions.
Requirements:
- Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience delivering civil engineering projects.
- Project management qualifications such as APM, Prince2, MSP, or similar are desirable.
- Experience administering or managing NEC contracts.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, technical standards, and relevant industry legislation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
