Job Title: Engine Builder
Location: Barton Under Needwood, Staffordshire
Duration: 3 months plus
Hours :7am till 5pm Monday to Thursday and 7am till 1pm on a Friday.
We are currently recruiting for a number of Engine Builders for contract roles to work within the Rail industry based in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
Key Accountabilities/ responsibilities:
– To be able to strip and re-build all the mechanical components of an engine, as per the work instruction.
– To be able to work to OEM manuals.
– To read and interpret assembly specifications and manuals, to plan assembly and build operations.
– The ability to verify conformance of parts to stock lists, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
– To liaise with other business units to get the task completed.
– The ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
– To accurately complete documentation to the company’s standards
– To ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.
– To mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable.
– To report any near misses.
– To comply with Company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and HR policies and procedures.
– To report any failures / faults identified. Person Specification Consider what is essential and what is desirable
Background & Experience:
* To be able to work within a changing environment, working to deadlines and short lead times.
* The ability to work as part of team.
* To take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee’s skills and abilities.
Qualifications/Education required:
* Minimum NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds in motor repairs or equivalent.
* Relevant experience in rail or automotive industry.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
