We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction contractor delivering projects across commercial, industrial, residential, education, healthcare, and retail sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior Quantity Surveyor to develop their commercial skillset within a supportive project team environment.
You will assist with cost control, procurement, valuations, and commercial administration from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Duties & Responsibilities- Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities
- Support tender preparation, analysis, and comparison of subcontractor and supplier returns
- Assist with procurement of subcontractors and materials
- Monitor project costs and track expenditure against budgets
- Support preparation of interim valuations and applications for payment
- Assist with valuation of variations and change control
- Help produce cost reports, forecasts, and cashflow updates
- Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
- Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation
- Support final accounts and project close-out activities
- Attend site meetings and site visits as required
- Up to 2 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role within construction
- Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or working towards)
- Basic understanding of construction contracts (JCT / NEC desirable but not essential)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Willingness to learn and develop within a commercial environment
