A well-established civil engineering contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a range of infrastructure projects across the Highlands and Islands.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will have full commercial responsibility for civil engineering projects from pre-contract through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial management of civil engineering projects
  • Cost planning, budgeting and financial forecasting
  • Preparation of valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Procurement and management of subcontractors
  • Contract administration (NEC preferred)
  • Risk and opportunity management
  • Accurate monthly cost/value reporting
  • Liaison with project teams, clients and stakeholders
  • Mentoring and supporting junior commercial staff

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (not a prerequisite)
  • Strong civil engineering background (will consider different sector experience)
  • Good working knowledge of NEC contracts (JCT desirable)
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
