A well-established civil engineering contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a range of infrastructure projects across the Highlands and Islands.
The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will have full commercial responsibility for civil engineering projects from pre-contract through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial management of civil engineering projects
- Cost planning, budgeting and financial forecasting
- Preparation of valuations, variations and final accounts
- Procurement and management of subcontractors
- Contract administration (NEC preferred)
- Risk and opportunity management
- Accurate monthly cost/value reporting
- Liaison with project teams, clients and stakeholders
- Mentoring and supporting junior commercial staff
Candidate Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (not a prerequisite)
- Strong civil engineering background (will consider different sector experience)
- Good working knowledge of NEC contracts (JCT desirable)
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Full UK driving licence preferred
