OHL Engineer 1-year contract St Austell, Cornwall (with travel elsewhere as required) £500 – £550 / day – Inside IR35 An OHL (Overhead Line Engineer) Engineer is required to join a design consultancy working on a 1-year contract in Cornwall on either Northern Power Grid or Greater Grid Projects. As an OHL Engineer, you will be responsible for designing OHL systems, including the selection of structures, conductors, and insulators, developing detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and design documentation using AutoCAD and PLS-CADD, collaborating with stakeholders to integrate design requirements into project plans, conducting site surveys and assessments, performing technical calculations and analysis, ensuring designs are compliant, reviewing and approving design modifications, providing support during construction and quality checking throughout construction. The successful candidate will be degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or equivalent, have experience in overhead line engineering up to 400k and have experience on upgrading work projects such as utilisation of High Temperature Low Sag conductors.
