The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a high-profile project team working on the prestigious Greenwich Royal Observatory project. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of complex electrical building services installations, supporting projects from design development through to testing and commissioning. Working closely with the Project Manager and Senior Project Engineer, you will help ensure technical compliance, quality standards and successful project delivery across all phases of the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and review electrical design information, raising RFIs and technical queries where required.
  • Support the delivery of electrical procurement packages, including technical reviews and monitoring material deliveries.
  • Review electrical shop drawings, material submittals and method statements, making recommendations for approval.
  • Monitor electrical works against project programmes and identify potential delays or constraints.
  • Support site installation activities, ensuring quality of workmanship and compliance with specifications.
  • Assist with electrical material take-offs and procurement planning.
  • Support BIM coordination activities and assist with clash detection and resolution.
  • Assist with the implementation of health and safety procedures, including RAMS reviews.
  • Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation, including inspections, testing records and NCR management.
  • Coordinate and support electrical testing and commissioning activities.
  • Provide technical support for commercial variations and change management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry regulations and quality requirements.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Experience within electrical building services, M&E or construction environments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems within complex buildings.
  • Experience reviewing technical drawings, specifications and design information.
  • Knowledge of electrical installation, testing and commissioning processes.
  • Familiarity with BIM coordination and multidisciplinary project environments.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within project teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.

About You

  • HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering is desirable.
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality electrical building services projects.
  • Strong technical aptitude with a willingness to continually develop your knowledge and skills.
  • Comfortable working within complex and technically challenging project environments.
  • Strong team player who can build positive relationships with colleagues, clients and supply chain partners.
