We are currently recruiting for an experienced Stores Operative to join a busy engineering environment. This is a key role within the supply chain and production support function, ensuring materials are accurately received, stored, and issued to meet manufacturing requirements.
You will be responsible for maintaining an organised stores area, supporting production through efficient kitting processes, and ensuring stock accuracy through the use of company systems and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings and relevant job documentation
- Inspect incoming goods against drawings and purchase specifications
- Process goods inwards and outwards accurately using company systems
- Store received materials in the correct designated locations
- Pick and prepare components for production kitting requirements
- Complete full job kits in line with production schedules
- Identify and report any shortages or discrepancies
- Use ERP systems to record deliveries, stock movements, and kitting activity
- Carry out regular stock checks, including monthly and year-end counts
- Maintain compliance with health and safety procedures at all times
- Support general stores operations as required
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by management
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working within a busy stores or warehouse environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Sage or similar systems
Desirable Experience
- Experience using pallet trucks and/or forklift equipment
- Background in an engineering or manufacturing environment
