We are currently recruiting for an experienced Skilled MIG Welder to join a well-established manufacturer. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a successful and growing engineering business, where quality, precision, and teamwork are at the heart of everything they do.
Working as part of the welding department and reporting to the Team Leader, you will play a key role in the production of precision-engineered hydraulic components, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering and AutoCAD drawings accurately.
- Perform high-quality MIG welding using three-phase welding equipment.
- Operate a range of workshop machinery, hand tools, and power tools.
- Carry out in-process inspections to ensure products meet strict quality standards.
- Update and use the company MRP system as part of the manufacturing process.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the welding area.
- Work to production and efficiency targets.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies.
- Maintain strong attendance and punctuality.
- Support the wider production team and undertake additional duties as required.
Performance Measures
- Minimising weld-related defects.
- Achieving departmental productivity targets.
- Full compliance with quality procedures and health and safety standards.
- Accurate use of the MRP and non-conformance systems.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' MIG welding experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and AutoCAD drawings.
- Experience using three-phase MIG welding equipment.
- Background operating workshop machinery and fabrication tools.
- Able to work independently and use initiative.
- Strong understanding of quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Flexible and dependable approach to work.
Desirable Experience
- NVQ or equivalent welding qualification.
- Previous experience in a precision engineering environment.
- Experience within the hydraulics industry.
- Fully coded welder certification.
- Knowledge of welding automation processes.
