Job Description

Graduate Structural Engineer

Are you an ambitious and highly motivated Graduate Structural Engineer, experienced or ready to start your career after university, looking for a secure role offering great opportunities to progress and train?

The Role

  • work on a diverse and interesting range of projects throughout the southwest and across different sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, education and health.
  • working with exceptional colleagues on the structural design of challenging projects that will improve your knowledge and understanding of structural engineering.
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with our infrastructure, highways and drainage engineers and you will be involved in every aspect of scheme development, preliminary and detailed designs and project management.
  • produce drawings using Auto CAD or Revit
  • prepare structural design calculations on a project basis using the current Eurocodes, BS
  • Standards and Approved Codes of Practice
  • You will assist with coordinating the structural and civil engineering aspects of the design process
  • liaise with other engineering disciplines within the practice
  • Accompany senior engineers to site visits/meetings
  • The Candidate
  • relevant BEng/MEng in Engineering
  • 12 months experience working in an engineering environment (preferable but not essential)
  • Enthusiastic self-motivated team player
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • strong work ethic
  • ability to work under own initiative
  • A working knowledge of Auto CAD and Revit
