We are seeking an exceptional Registered Manager to lead our established 4-bed children's residential home, providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with complex needs and experiences of trauma. Rated Good by Ofsted, our ambition is clear: to achieve Outstanding. About the Role
As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, management, and operation of the home, ensuring that children receive outstanding care in line with their individual needs, aspirations, and plans. You will ensure full compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, the Quality Standards, and all relevant safeguarding and statutory requirements, whilst developing a high-performing team committed to achieving the very best outcomes for children and young people. Working closely with senior leaders, you will drive service excellence, promote innovation, and lead the home's progression from Good to Outstanding.

- Provide strong and visible leadership across the home.

- Monitor quality assurance systems and implement robust improvement plans.

- Trauma-Informed Practice
- Champion trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches throughout the service.
- Ensure staff understand the impact of childhood trauma and attachment experiences.
- Embed relationship-based practice that supports children to build trust, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.
- Lead practice that recognises children's strengths, identity, and aspirations.
- Team Development and People Leadership
- Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing staff team.
- Provide effective supervision, mentoring, and performance management.
- Foster a positive and accountable culture focused on learning and development.
- Support Deputy Managers and senior staff to develop their leadership capability.
- Ensure training and development programmes meet the needs of the children and service.
- Partnership Working
- Build strong relationships with placing authorities, families, schools, health professionals, and external agencies.
- Act as a professional advocate for children and young people.
- Ensure effective multi-agency working to support positive outcomes.
- Operational Management
- Manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Maintain safe staffing levels and workforce planning.
- Participate in the management on-call rota, providing leadership support outside normal working hours when required.
- Ensure the home operates safely, efficiently, and in line with organisational values and expectations.
About You
You are an experienced and inspirational leader who is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people. You will have:
- Significant experience within children's residential care.
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to step into registration.
- Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- A proven track record of achieving positive inspection outcomes and driving service improvement.
- Experience of developing and leading high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- A strong understanding of trauma-informed and therapeutic care models.
Essential Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification recognised by Ofsted). This must be complete, or be willing to be completed within 2 years in post.
- Experience working within children's residential care settings.
- Ability to meet Ofsted's fitness requirements for registration.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding and children's legislation.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
