Job Description
Operations Manager (Financial Services)
Due to extensive growth, Fusion Consulting Group are looking to recruit an experienced Operations Manager (Financial Services) to manage the back-office of its expanding financial division of the group.
The group has several subsidiaries ranging from Tax, Accounting, Legal, Financial Services and Recruitment. Our mission is to disrupt the disjointed Professional Services space.
This role is based out of our head office in Finchley, North London.
Job Description – Operations Manager (Financial Services)
Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be required to manage the day to day back-office operation of the financial services business. This role would suit someone who instinctively takes ownership and can maintain high levels of risk management. The goal is to ensure the Client's experience is smooth from beginning to end.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous IFA experience to join a supportive and collaborative team where their training and future development will be made a priority.
Responsibilities
- Managing all Back Office operations of the financial services division
- Manage and coach the team, fostering a culture of learning and growth
- Oversee workflow across all business areas
- Managing the data input into Intelligent Office
- Managing the Letters of Authority (LOA) process and ensuring regular follow up with the providers
- Managing fund switches and withdrawals
- Oversee the development of the non-advising administration and paraplanning staff
- Ensuring the first meeting packs are prepared for clients
- Ensuring suitability letters are prepared for Adviser sign off
- Ensuring success with client calls, fact find meetings and sending relevant documents
- Processing new business, which includes anti money laundering checks and follow through to completion of the application process either paper or electronic
- Liaising with clients and providers where appropriate
- Adding and updating new business and fees onto the back-office system
- Dealing with telephone and postal queries
- Producing client valuations
- Dealing with internal reporting on prospects, clients, status and fees
- Working with the finance team on commission income reconciliation
- Regularly review the firm's procedures to ensure they remain current and appropriate
- Develop new procedures to meet changes in regulation, legislation and the firm's business plan
- Assisting with any other duties as required by the Directors and being the point of contact in the absence of the Directors
Person Specification
- At least five years exposure working for an IFA; knowledge of the IFA regulatory environment the firm operates in and the issues and risks it faces
- Excellent working knowledge of FCA Principles and Rules
- Proven ability to design procedures to tackle issues and risks faced by the firm
- Experience in using Intelligent Office and Excel is essential
- Proven experience leading and managing teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
