Due to extensive growth and multiple acquisitions, Birdi & Co (a subsidiary of Fusion Consulting Group) are looking to recruit an experienced Legal Secretary to join us in our central London office in Bishopsgate, London. FCG, now in its tenth year of trading, acquired Birdi & Co (a fully SRA regulated law firm) in early 2025 which focuses on M&A, Corporate, Commercial, Employment, GDPR & Property Law. The firm offers excellent career prospects to somebody who wants to embed themselves as a key player in a rapidly growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Dealing with client onboarding, including opening client files and carrying out Client Due Diligence (CDD) via our onboarding partner
- Assisting the team with administrative duties such as drafting letters, reviewing documents, sending documents via DocuSign, billing tasks, diary management and digital dictations
- Printing, copying and scanning
- Scanning and distributing all incoming and outgoing post
- Preparing weekly slides for management on leads and proposal volume and pipeline
- Manage and replenish office stationery
- Assist the team in obtaining HM Land Registry title information and completing SDLT returns
- Assisting the Operations Manager (Law) in carrying out research tasks for any new tech platforms we may wish to implement with a focus on efficiency to streamline our processes
- Maintaining and updating our CRM platform
- Being the liaison on leads and proposals between the Bishopsgate office and the rest of the group
- Ad hoc administrative tasks and responsibilities
- You may also, from time to time, be asked to assist our Group Marketing and Business Development Manager with helping to organise staff and Birdi & Co events
- You will be guided by our Operations Manager (Law) and assist with any tasks given to you in order to ensure a smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a legal secretary or similar administrative role in a legal setting (preferably at least 3 years)
- Proficiency in office applications, such as MS Word and Excel
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication
- Able to use your initiative and solve problems independently
- Able to work independently and collaboratively under pressure
- Be enthusiastic and flexible with a team approach to working
- Trustworthy and honest
