About the Role:
Role Overview
The Executive Director, Global Commerce, is a newly created senior leadership role dedicated to a globally recognised household-name client. This position is 100% client-focused, tasked with driving the growth, innovation and integration of commerce strategies across global, regional, and local markets.
The role requires deep expertise in commerce and retail media, including Amazon ecosystem, social commerce, and the integration of commerce into broader media strategies. With a focus on global coordination, thought leadership, and fostering collaboration within the Omnicom network, the Executive Director will oversee all things commerce-related such as retail media, shopper marketing, and retail analytics initiatives. Additionally, the role will own the global commerce test-and-learn agenda, driving innovation and ensuring impactful outcomes for the client.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Oversight
- Oversee all commerce-related workstreams, including retail media, shopper marketing, and retail analytics, ensuring alignment with the client’s global objectives.
- Provide strategic direction and integration of commerce strategies within the broader media ecosystem, delivering cohesive solutions.
- Serve as the central point of coordination between Omnicom commerce specialists, fostering collaboration and leveraging expertise across the network.
Client-Centric Commerce Integration
- Develop and implement tailored commerce strategies for the client, addressing their unique needs and challenges.
- Leverage expertise in retail media and social commerce to optimize performance and drive measurable results across platforms.
- Own the global commerce test-and-learn agenda, piloting innovative solutions, measuring success, and scaling effective initiatives.
Commerce Expertise
- Apply in-depth knowledge of retail media, including AMC, to enhance the client’s commerce capabilities.
- Drive alignment between commerce initiatives and overall marketing goals, ensuring seamless execution across channels.
Global Coordination and Collaboration
- Coordinate commerce initiatives across global, regional, and local markets, ensuring consistency in strategy and execution.
- Foster collaboration between Omnicom commerce specialists and other stakeholders to ensure best practices and innovation are applied.
- Work with a global mindset, adapting strategies to meet the needs of diverse markets and regions.
Thought Leadership and Community Building
- Build and lead a global commerce community, promoting knowledge sharing, innovation, and collaboration across the client organization and Omnicom network.
- Act as a thought leader within the client organization and the broader industry, staying ahead of emerging trends and sharing insights to inform strategies.

Our standard working hours are 9:30 – 17:30, but we offer the ability to flex around core hours of 10:30 – 16:30 to give our people flexibility on how they manage their working day, whether that’s in the office or working remotely. For example, you could start work at 8:30 and finish at 16:30 or start at 10:30 and finish at 18:30.
