Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup on a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy, fast. We're combining first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system. We've raised more than $210M from top-tier investors including Multicoin, Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, Box Group and strategic angels like Nico Rosberg, the co-founder of Solana and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify and Uber. We're building a fully integrated energy company: from developing solar, wind and battery projects to real-time power trading and distributed energy installations. By selling directly to consumers, we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass savings on to customers.

Fuse is building a fully integrated energy company, and we grow through both organic build-out and acquisition. As M&A + Strategy Associate, you'll own acquisitions end to end and drive the strategic projects that decide where the business goes next: new markets, new business lines and the questions that land on the leadership team's desk. You sit on the principal side, owning deals and outcomes rather than advising on them, and work directly with leadership on the decisions that shape the company. It is the natural next step for a strong analyst, associate or consultant ready to move from advising to building.

Responsibilities

  • Owning acquisitions end to end, from sourcing and screening targets through valuation, diligence, structuring and negotiation to close.
  • Shaping where Fuse goes next by working out which markets and business lines to enter, build, or buy and what it takes to win there, taking each strategic question from open problem to a recommendation leadership can act on.
  • Building the models, market work and investment cases that turn a go/no-go into a decision that holds up.
  • Driving execution and delivery by running the workstreams, advisors, data rooms and timelines so deals and projects actually close, then carrying approvals through into integration.
  • Parachuting into special projects, the unplanned high-visibility work that lands at short notice and needs a small team to find the answer and execute, with leadership watching closely.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years in M&A, investing (PE, VC or infrastructure), corporate development or a similarly high-intensity analytical seat.
  • Excellent financial modelling, valuation and structured problem-solving skills.
  • An independent operator who can parachute into an ambiguous problem and drive it to an answer and an outcome.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the communication skills to make a case to leadership.
  • Relentless, detail-oriented and highly operational, moving fast from strategy to implementation.
  • Strong quantitative or STEM background.

Bonus

  • Energy, infrastructure or renewables sector experience.
  • Direct experience leading or supporting acquisitions from origination through close.
  • Exposure to new-market entry or new business line build-out.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and an equity sign-on bonus.
  • Bi-annual bonus scheme.
  • Fully expensed tech to match your needs.
  • Paid annual leave.
  • Breakfast and dinner allowance for office based employees.
  • Possibility of remote/hybrid.
  • A front-row seat at a fast-growing, well-funded energy company solving a problem that matters, with real ownership and high autonomy from day one alongside an exceptional, first-principles team.
