Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup on a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy - fast. We are combining first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system. We raised $100M from top-tier investors including Multicoin, Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, Box Group and strategic angels like Nico Rosberg, the Co-Founder of Solana and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify, Uber and more. We are creating a fully integrated energy company: from developing solar, wind and hydrogen projects to real-time power trading and distributed energy installations. By selling directly to consumers, we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass on savings to customers. But we are not stopping there. We are also building the Energy Network: a decentralised platform of smart devices that rewards users in Energy Dollars for electrifying their homes, shifting usage to off-peak hours, and helping balance the grid. This network strengthens grid stability - a critical foundation for scaling AI data centres and other energy-intensive industries.
As part of this mission, we are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our London team. You will play a key role in supporting our commercial, corporate, and regulatory workstreams as we expand rapidly across multiple jurisdictions. This is an opportunity to join an ambitious startup at the forefront of the energy transition and help shape the legal foundations of a new kind of energy company.
Responsibilities
- Own deal flow: Review, draft, and negotiate a high volume of NDAs, MSAs, product order forms, and supplier/customer/technology agreements. Flag risks early and land practical, business-friendly solutions.
- Drive product forward: Translate legal and regulatory requirements into clear guidance for new product lines. Research regulatory requirements and use them to develop product specs. Review designs end-to-end to ensure they are launch-ready and compliant.
- Embed with the business: Provide crisp, day-to-day advice to Operations, Finance, Trading, and Product. Turn complex issues into simple decisions and help teams move fast with confidence.
- Regulatory sword and shield: Support UK and cross-border compliance, coordinate filings and regulatory submissions, and maintain policies, registers, and training so everything is inspection-ready without roadblocking the business.
- Build scalable infrastructure: Create and refine templates, clause libraries, playbooks, and best practices. Streamline workflows and automate the routine so the team can focus on the high-impact work.
