By selling directly to consumers we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass the savings on to our customers.The HSE Engineer is responsible for site-based Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance across the UK utility-scale renewable portfolio, supporting projects from development through construction, commissioning, and early operations.The role ensures that all activities are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with legal, regulatory, and internal standards. Acting as the HSE engineer for the business, the role drives a strong safety culture, ensures robust compliance frameworks, and supports continuous improvement across construction and operational sites.This position reports to the Head of Projects.ResponsibilitiesSupport the delivery of HSE across the company’s construction and operational portfolio, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly and to the required environmental standardsSupport the development and implementation of HSE policies, procedures and management systems across projectsPromote a strong safety culture across internal teams, sites, EPC contractors and subcontractorsProvide day-to-day HSE support and guidance to project managers, site teams and contractorsMonitor compliance with UK legislation, CDM Regulations, HSE requirements and company standardsCarry out regular site inspections, audits and safety reviews, identifying risks and tracking corrective actionsReview RAMS, risk assessments, method statements and other HSE documentationSupport the investigation of incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions, ensuring actions are recorded and followed throughMonitor HSE performance and contribute to the development of project and portfolio-level KPIsSupport environmental compliance across construction and operational sites, including monitoring environmental risks and incidentsAssist with contractor mobilisation, onboarding and ongoing HSE performance monitoringMaintain accurate records of inspections, audits, incidents, training and other HSE activitiesSupport internal, external, regulatory and lender audits where requiredAssist with the delivery of site inductions, toolbox talks, HSE training and safety awareness programmesShare lessons learned and support the implementation of improvements across projectsHelp identify opportunities to improve HSE processes, reduce risk and maintain consistent standards across the portfolioRequirements3–7 years of experience in HSE roles within construction, energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectorsStrong experience in utility-scale Solar PV, BESS, wind, or large infrastructure projectsNEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) essentialStrong understanding of UK HSE legislation and CDM RegulationsExperience managing HSE across multiple construction sites or projectsKnowledge of ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) advantageousExperience conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessmentsStrong understanding of EPC environments and contractor managementBenefitsCompetitive salary and eligibility for equityBiannual bonus schemeFully expensed tech to match your needsPrivate health insuranceBreakfast and dinner allowance for office-based employeesAs we hire globally, benefits may vary by location.Job SummaryID: 807042D04BDepartment:Type: full time
