Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup on a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy — fast. We are combining first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system. We raised $170M from top-tier investors including Multicoin, Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, Box Group and strategic angels like Nico Rosberg, the Co-Founder of Solana and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify, Uber and more. We are creating a fully integrated energy company: from developing solar, wind and hydrogen projects to real-time power trading and distributed energy installations. By selling directly to consumers, we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass on savings to customers. We are also building the Energy Network: a decentralised platform of smart devices that rewards users in Energy Dollars for electrifying their homes, shifting usage to off-peak hours, and helping balance the grid. This network strengthens grid stability — a critical foundation for scaling AI data centres and other energy-intensive industries.
As a Senior HR Specialist, you will own and improve core people operations across the employee lifecycle. You will be the go-to person for HR operations, policy and process execution, HRIS data integrity, and employee support — bringing structure and speed to a fast-growing startup environment. You will partner closely with leadership and hiring managers to deliver a high-trust, high-quality employee experience at scale.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end HR operations across onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, documentation, and record management.
- Be the HR operations lead, ensuring smooth execution, high accuracy, and strong employee experience across all touchpoints.
- Own HRIS administration (data quality, workflows, reporting, audits), and continuously improve how we use systems and tools.
- Draft, review, and manage contracts, letters, policy documentation, and HR communications, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Drive HR process improvement: identify gaps, redesign workflows, implement SOPs, and standardise scalable processes.
- Support and strengthen compliance practices (right-to-work, employment documentation, internal controls, data privacy, and local requirements as applicable).
- Payroll coordination/ownership (depending on structure): ensure inputs are accurate (attendance, leave, changes), liaise with payroll vendors/finance, and troubleshoot issues.
- Act as a first-line owner for employee relations and employee queries, resolving independently when possible and escalating complex matters appropriately.
- Lead key people cycles such as performance reviews, probation confirmations, annual processes, and related documentation/training for managers.
- Provide HR analytics and reporting (headcount, attrition, absences, compliance metrics), and turn insights into operational improvements.
- Partner with recruiting/ops teams to support hiring operations when needed (offers, pre-boarding, background checks, ATS/HRIS handoffs).
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in HR/People Operations (startup or high-growth environment strongly preferred).
- Proven ability to own HR operations independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality execution with minimal oversight.
- Strong knowledge of core HR processes (employee lifecycle, documentation, HRIS, payroll coordination, performance cycles, compliance basics).
- Excellent organisational skills and extreme attention to detail; able to build systems that scale.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; confident working with employees and managers across all levels.
- Experience with HRIS/ATS tools, spreadsheets, reporting, and process documentation (SOPs, workflows, templates).
- High discretion and sound judgement when handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Comfortable in ambiguity; proactive mindset with a track record of improving processes rather than only running them.
- Bonus: experience supporting multi-country teams, visas/relocation coordination, or working with external payroll/HR vendors.
Benefits
- Competitive salary
- Biannual bonus scheme
- Fully expensed tech to match your needs
- Paid annual leave
- Deliveroo breakfast and dinner allowance
