Furze Down is an outstanding special school based across two sites in Winslow and Buckingham. We provide education for 220 pupils aged 4-19 with communication and interaction differences. We are incredibly proud of our nurturing, inclusive environment, where our multi-disciplinary teams place pupils and families at the heart of everything we do. About the Role

As an LSA, you will:

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, Learning Support Assistants and therapists to support pupils’ learning, progress and wellbeing.
  • Provide learning support within the classroom and, where appropriate, in alternative learning environments.
  • Support pupils individually and in small groups to access the curriculum, engage in learning and experience success.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that promote pupils’ wellbeing, independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.
  • Promote inclusive practice and contribute to a calm, safe and supportive learning environment across the school.
  • Support the development of pupils’ communication, social and emotional skills.
  • Support pupils with personal care needs where required, in line with training and school procedures.
  • Contribute to planning, record-keeping and the delivery of structured interventions to support pupil progress.
