Role Overview
The overarching purpose of the role is to specify, procure and manage the delivery of all production and technical services for event and exhibition projects across multiple sectors, being accountable for all downstream workflows within the role's remit. You must work collaboratively across the business to ensure the creative vision becomes a reality. As a small business, our teams often have to wear many hats so flexibility is key and whilst this role is a production and technical specialist, it will also be a client-facing role and may need to take on more traditional Project Management tasks depending on the project.
Tasks and Duties (list not exhaustive)
- Maintain a creative mindset and work collaboratively with Creative teams to help realise technically ambitious concepts and solutions.
- Provide production, technical and commercial input to support Account Management, Project Management and Creative teams during proposal and project development stages.
- Produce accurate project budgets and cost plans, ensuring commercial viability in line with Fury financial targets and project requirements.
- Support the ongoing management of project finances throughout delivery, including supplier cost tracking, change management and maintaining budget control.
- Manage suppliers, freelancers and internal production processes to ensure quality standards, timelines and creative intent are maintained throughout delivery.
- Work closely with Project Management and Account teams to ensure budgets, timelines and production plans are complete and aligned prior to client presentation and approval.
- Manage the graphic production process, working alongside designers, artworkers and suppliers to ensure print and branded materials are delivered accurately and to specification.
- Attend client meetings as required to support briefing discussions, technical planning, budget reviews and production updates.
- Determine appropriate production, scenic and technical approaches for projects, feeding recommendations into design development and costing processes.
- Create and manage production schedules, installation schedules, transport plans and on-site delivery programmes for projects.
- Coordinate global freight and logistics requirements for both one-off events and touring event assets where required.
- Travel internationally as required to support on-site build, installation and live event delivery.
- Manage on-site suppliers, crew and stakeholders during live event environments, ensuring projects are delivered safely, professionally and in line with agreed standards.
- Liaise with the Warehouse team regarding preparation, movement and tracking of event assets, equipment and client property. This may include hands-on preparation work where required.
- Support the creation and management of project Health & Safety documentation including RAMS and event safety plans, with support from senior production and operational leadership where required.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to identify practical solutions to production, technical and logistical challenges.
- Liaise with external technical specialists, production partners and consultants where required to support project delivery.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned, operational efficiencies and recommendations following project delivery.
- Assist in sourcing and developing new suppliers and production partners to support project requirements and business growth.
Experience and Skills
- Demonstrable experience delivering live events, exhibitions and experiential projects within a Creative Agency environment to a similar level.
- Experience working across multiple event delivery formats such as exhibitions, live events, conferences, roadshows, brand activations or touring projects.
- Strong commercial awareness with proven experience managing complex multi-currency project budgets, supplier costs and maintaining financial control throughout project delivery.
- Demonstrable understanding of scenic production, technical production, logistics and live event operational processes.
- Confident working with suppliers, contractors and production partners within fast-paced delivery environments.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, suppliers and client stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel-based budgeting and scheduling.
- Experience using CAD, SketchUp or other technical drawing software would be advantageous.
- Practical understanding of event Health & Safety requirements, including creation of RAMS and management of safe working practices within live event environments. IOSH Managing Safely accreditation will be provided, but an existing practical knowledge relevant for the role level must be pre-existing.
- Understanding of technical production disciplines and event delivery best practice across live, exhibition and experiential environments.
- Awareness of digital event workflows and integration between physical and digital event elements.
- Calm, proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem solving within fast-moving and changing project environments.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects, changing priorities and compressed timelines.
