Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site Sales Specialist role based in Chelmsford. The Sales Specialist will welcome customers to the showroom, actively listen to their needs, and recommend suitable furniture solutions that align with their style, budget and lifestyle. Responsibilities include demonstrating product features, preparing accurate quotations, processing sales orders and maintaining up‑to‑date product and promotional knowledge. The role involves delivering a high standard of customer service, following up on leads and enquiries and supporting store targets through effective upselling and cross‑selling. The Sales Specialist will also help maintain a visually appealing showroom, collaborate with colleagues and take part in training and coaching to improve product knowledge and sales techniques.
Qualifications
- Strong customer‑facing abilities, including excellent communication and customer service skills to build rapport and create a positive in‑store experience.
- Proven sales skills with the ability to identify customer needs, recommend suitable products and confidently close sales in a retail environment.
- Experience or interest in sales management and training, such as supporting team performance, sharing best practices or coaching colleagues, is an advantage.
- Comfort using point‑of‑sale systems, basic IT applications and handling payments and order documentation accurately.
- Ability to work on‑site in Chelmsford on a full‑time basis, including weekends and peak trading periods, with a collaborative and results‑focused mindset.
- Prior experience in furniture, home interiors or premium retail is beneficial but not essential; a willingness to learn and a passion for design and quality are highly valued.
