Furniture On The Move Ltd is a specialist furniture hire company, providing a wide variety of furniture rental to the corporate market. As Furniture On The Move expands, we have taken on a huge number of new contracts, both within the UK and in Europe. As a result, we are looking for some drivers and installers for the summer period (mainly August to September) to assist our regular team with driving, packing, reading floorplan layouts and installations.
We supply high-end furniture rental to the live events industry, festival sector, film shoots and corporate events. We furnish shows such as Carfest, Goodwood, Wimbledon, Silverstone, ATP tennis, Glastonbury and complete several European tours a year for our clients.
Your responsibilities would include:
- Loading the vans in such a way that our furniture is not damaged
- Driving our large Lutons in and out of London and other areas of the UK (3.5 tonne only - no operators licence required)
- Installing the furniture in the locations once arrived and often according to the floor-plans given by the client
- De-rigging all of the furniture and safely packing it back into the vans.
Requirements for the job:
- Ability to drive Luton sized vans with confidence
- Clean and tidy and happy to wear a uniform (polo shirt and dark jeans)
- Good customer facing skills and polite
- Experience of driving in London (preferable, but not essential)
- Flexibility of hours. This role often requires early starts and late finishes
In return you receive:
- Great rates of pay for all hours worked (lunch breaks are also paid, as well as wait times at venues)
- Supplement pay for hours between 22.00 and 04.00, weekend work and Bank holiday work
- Minimum 8 hour shift (usually 10-12 if working in London)
- Opportunity to do a good number of hours in a busy week
- Warehouse work available as well if more hours are required
- Friendly team going to some great locations you wouldn’t get to see otherwise.
We are happy to put you on the books, or you can invoice as long as you have the correct UTR number.
Qualifications:
- Truck Driving and possession of a valid CDL Class A driver’s license
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to ensure client satisfaction and effective interactions
- Proficient in handling and safely operating trucks and other vehicles
- Physical fitness to carry, load, and install furniture
- Prior experience in furniture handling or logistics is a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours and provide reliable, punctual service
- Any experience of running teams in the UK and Europe are also a benefit
- Experience in the live events industry also a benefit.
