The predicted salary is between 31500 - 38500 £ per year.
To work under the instruction oft eaching/senior staff, usually in the classroom with the teacher, to supportaccess to learning for pupils.
To provide general support to theteacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
To contribute to the overall ethos, workand aims of the school.
Attend to the personal needs of pupilsand implement related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first-aid and welfare matters.
Supervise and provide support to pupilsensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
Support pupils to understandinstructions, and in respect of local and national learning strategies such asliteracy, numeracy, early years, as directed by the teacher.
Establish good relationships withpupils, acting as a role model, being aware of and responding appropriately totheir individual needs, and encouraging pupils to interact with others andengage in activities with others.
Prepare the classroom as directed forlessons, clear afterwards and assist with the display of pupils’ work.
Undertake pupil record-keeping asrequested by the teacher.
Maintain awareness of pupil problems, progress and achievements, and report to the teacher as agreed and/orappropriate.
Gather and report information fromand/or to parents/carers as directed by the teacher.
Prepare and maintain equipment andresources as directed by the teacher, andassist pupils in their use, including basic ICT equipment.
Provide a range of clerical andadministrative support to teaching staff, including photocopying, word-processing, filing and collecting money.
Support the teacher in managing pupilbehaviour, reporting conflict and incidents in accordance with the school’spolicies and procedures.
Promote the inclusion and acceptance ofall pupils.
Assist with supervision of pupils out oflesson times, including before and after school and at lunchtimes.
Accompany teaching staff and pupils ontrips and school activities as required.
Participate in training and developmentactivities and programmes, and attend and participate in meetings, as required.
Possess strong Literacy and Numeracyknowledge base and skills set.
Appreciate and support the role of otherprofessionals.
Be aware of and comply with policies andprocedures, and report all concerns to an appropriate person, in respect of:
- child protection,
- health, safety and security,
- confidentiality, and
- data protection.
Ensure all pupils have equal access toopportunities to learn and develop.
