The Role
We are seeking an experienced Class 2 Tipper Driver to join our professional driving team. This is a hands-on role that combines skilled driving with essential administrative responsibilities and customer interaction. As our Class 2 Tipper Driver, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of tipper vehicles while maintaining the high standards of professionalism that our clients expect from Furness Haulage.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving & Operations
- Safely operate Class 2 tipper vehicles on various routes
- Conduct thorough pre and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure loads are properly secured and legal limits are maintained
- Navigate efficiently to delivery/collection points using route planning
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any defects immediately
- Administrative Duties
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and promptly
- Maintain delivery documentation and consignment notes
- Record driver hours and maintain compliant driving records
- Handle waste transfer notes and other regulatory documentation
- Submit timesheets and expense claims as required
- Customer Service
- Communicate professionally with customers at all times
- Provide clear updates on delivery schedules when required
- Handle any site-specific requirements or access issues
- Represent Furness Haulage professionally at all customer locations
- Resolve minor delivery issues through effective communication
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with minimal penalty points
- Proven tipper truck experience - we need someone who knows the job
- Strong communication skills for customer interaction
- Paperwork proficiency - comfortable with documentation and record-keeping
- Professional attitude and smart appearance
- Flexibility with working hours and routes
- CPC qualification (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
