About the Role
We are looking for a highly analytical and organised Space Planning Executive to join our Space & Format team. This role plays a key part in shaping how space is used across our UK and International WHSmith and InMotion stores, ensuring the right ranges are delivered in the right space to maximise commercial performance. You will own critical space data, support major space change cycles, and work collaboratively across multiple teams to deliver new initiatives, store changes and new openings.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the Store Space database for UK and International businesses, which drives ranging decisions across all WHSmith and InMotion stores
- Support the bi-annual space change cycle, working closely with Central teams to deliver new space initiatives
- Manage the retail delivery process for Space & Format, ensuring planograms, layouts and coded spreadsheets are accurate and delivered on time
- Oversee the store space change request and feedback process, enabling effective space and range changes
- Work alongside the Layout Planning team to deliver new stores with optimal space allocation, reflecting current strategy and new initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally to solve problems and identify best practices in ranging and space allocation
- Support Format Strategy trials and projects through accurate data analysis, presentation and clear communication
- Manage and support commercial projects requiring space changes, from planning through to implementation
- Maintain and develop a suite of tools to support space decisions for existing stores, new stores, resizes and relocations

You’ll be a detail-oriented and analytically minded individual who enjoys working with data and collaborating across teams. Key skills and experience include:
- Strong analytical capability with a high level of numeracy
- Ability to interpret and communicate insights from detailed reports
- Advanced Excel skills
