We are looking for a commercially astute and delivery-focused Finance Analyst to support the Commercial Finance Team in UK Travel to focus on Supplier Income – Reporting and Governance. This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with the Commercial Finance Team, project teams, as well as Commercial and Financial stakeholders to help shape and embed changes. You’ll utilise your core finance knowledge to ensure accurate and streamlined reporting.
The Role:
- Working as part of the wider commercial finance team, the Senior Commercial Finance Analyst will work as part of a close-knit team focusing on WHSmith’s supplier income. This role has a high degree of cross-functional collaboration and visibility.
- Use core accounting knowledge to support in delivery of successful Income Transformation Project.
- Support the implementation of new Supplier Incomes System, including parallel running, monitoring controls and promoting engagement.
- Collaborate with commercial and financial stakeholders to ensure business needs are met across both the project and standard reporting.
- Support on audit schedules, analysis & support required.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend practical improvements that enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Contribute to change management activities by engaging stakeholders, providing feedback, and ensuring the finance team is supported through change.
The Candidate:
- The ideal candidate will be autonomous, proactive and solutions focused with an inquisitive and collaborative outlook.
- They will be comfortable navigating ambiguity and have strong cross-functional relationship management skills.
- Required experience:
- Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Strong knowledge of Supplier Incomes in a similar industry is highly desired, including recognition principles.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to problem-solve, work independently, and deliver at pace.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills—comfortable collaborating across finance and non-finance teams.
