Funky Chalk is a fast-growing e-commerce and distribution business in the cue sports industry, supplying both trade and retail customers with cues, cases and accessories across the UK and beyond. We manage £1.3m+ of stock and we’re scaling quickly — new systems, a new warehouse, and smarter buying.
We’re looking for a Stock Controller & Purchasing Coordinator (with e‑commerce knowledge) to help keep stock accurate, organised, and moving smoothly in a busy warehouse environment. This role is ideal for someone who loves systems, accuracy, and process, and wants to be involved in more than just counting boxes.
You’ll be hands‑on when needed — getting stuck into the warehouse — but also confident working at a computer: analysing stock data, liaising with suppliers, and working closely with the team to raise and manage POs. An interest in snooker or pool is a bonus, but not essential.
What Stock & Purchasing controller will be doing:
- Owning stock accuracy across a busy warehouse operation
- Booking goods in and completing QC checks (including 20ft & 40ft containers from China)
- Supporting purchasing and replenishment using Inventory Planner
- Running cycle counts and stocktakes, and improving stock discipline
- Helping implement and roll out a new WMS (and making sure data stays clean)
- Playing a key part in our upcoming warehouse move
What we’re looking for in a Stock & Purchasing controller:
- Solid experience in stock control / inventory
- Hands‑on WMS experience (essential)
- Some understanding of e‑commerce stock flows (pick/pack, allocation, replenishment, multi‑channel stock accuracy)
- Purchasing knowledge or experience raising/managing purchase orders
- Highly organised, detail‑driven, and comfortable working with data
- Someone who enjoys taking ownership and improving how things are done
Why join Funky Chalk?
- Real responsibility in a role that genuinely matters
- Involvement in major projects: WMS rollout, systems improvement, warehouse move
- A growing business where your input is heard and acted on
- Own the role, shape the process, make your mark — and if you shine, there’s plenty of room to progress as we expand.
- The chance to add real value — and be rewarded as the business grows!
- Annual pay rises (linked to performance and responsibility)
- If you like systems, stock accuracy, and being part of a business that’s moving forward — we should talk.
