Funktion-One designs and manufactures high performance loudspeaker systems for the professional audio industry. Our reputation is built on engineering integrity and the care that goes into every product. We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality control procedures across our products, manufacturing processes and supply chain. This is a hands-on role focused on developing and implementing robust quality systems, managing consistency across multiple sites and working closely with both internal teams and external suppliers to ensure our high standards are met. This role is primarily based at the Funktion-One headquarters in Beare Green, Dorking with some domestic and international travel.

The Role

You will be responsible for defining and embedding quality control procedures across the business, from incoming materials through to final product performance. A key part of the role is working with contractors and suppliers to ensure consistent, repeatable quality in line with Funktion-One standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years in a quality role within manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and statistical process control
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and external suppliers
  • Experience training, monitoring and improving supplier performance
  • Understanding of failure analysis and root cause investigation
  • Experience with MRP systems
  • Basic understanding of product compliance and regulatory frameworks
  • Clear communicator, able to work across engineering, production, support teams and customers
  • Strong eye for detail

Desirable

  • Experience in professional audio or electronics manufacturing (SME environment)
  • Basic knowledge of acoustic or electronic measurement (loudspeakers, amplifiers)
  • Understanding of cabinet manufacturing, finishes and adhesives
  • Experience auditing suppliers and managing technical compliance documentation
  • Basic scripting (e.g. Python) for data analysis and reporting

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality management processes across multiple sites
  • Define quality metrics and work with engineering to improve testing and validation
  • Lead supplier quality, including audits, performance monitoring and improvement programmes
  • Work with operations to track production capacity, yield and quality trends
  • Collaborate with service and support teams to improve service and returns processes
  • Audit suppliers for compliance and maintain product technical files (in collaboration with engineering team)
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business
  • Domestic and international travel as required
