The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Casual Driver/Bearer to join our William H Painter Funeral Directors team. This role will cover the 6 branches in the West Birmingham area. The hours are varied, and there is the opportunity to fit the role in around your other commitments. You must be smart, calm and professional at all times, this role will play a vital role in the service we offer our clients.

  • Your duties will include driving company vehicles, so you’ll need a full UK driving licence, held for a minimum of 12 months.
  • Take part in funeral bearing duties (including carrying) in line with our policies. Full training will be given.
  • Casual Driver/Bearer will participate in funeral services, pallbearing, driving ceremonial vehicles and helping to ensure everything goes smoothly on the day.
  • Ensure our vehicles are well maintained and presented both before and after use, coordinate the daily orders, have a good understanding of the timings of the work and the relevant locations we serve.
